About the Opportunity
Innovative Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and clinically skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our Frederick team. This position offers the opportunity to provide individualized psychiatric care in a collaborative outpatient setting alongside therapists, psychiatric providers, and administrative staff.
We welcome both experienced practitioners and new graduates who demonstrate sound clinical judgment, a commitment to learning, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate values continuity of care, welcomes feedback, and is interested in expanding access to evidence-based mental health and addiction treatment.
Consistent Saturday availability is required. Remaining weekly hours will be coordinated with leadership based on patient needs and clinic operations.
Compensation

Annualized figures are based on 52 weeks of paid work. This is an hourly-paid position; actual annual earnings depend on the agreed-upon rate and total paid hours.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive psychiatric care: Conduct psychiatric evaluations, establish diagnoses, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing medication management.
Monitor treatment and patient safety: Evaluate medication effectiveness, adverse effects, and relevant laboratory findings; conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and coordinate higher levels of care when needed.
Collaborate across the treatment team: Work closely with therapists, other psychiatric providers, and referring professionals to support coordinated care and patient engagement.
Support specialty treatment services: Participate in services such as Spravato, long-acting injectable medications, and medication-assisted treatment, as appropriate to your training, credentials, and assigned responsibilities.
Maintain clinical and operational standards: Complete documentation promptly, participate in team meetings and case consultations, communicate reliably with staff, and contribute to quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing with preparation as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and current PMHNP-BC certification.
Active, unrestricted Maryland nursing licensure and applicable nurse practitioner certification, with current DEA registration and Maryland controlled dangerous substances registration appropriate to assigned prescribing duties.
Strong assessment, diagnostic, psychopharmacology, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to practice within your professional scope, recognize when consultation is needed, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Availability to work Saturdays and maintain a consistent 25–30-hour weekly schedule.
Previous outpatient psychiatric or addiction treatment experience is preferred but not required. Spanish-language proficiency is highly valued but is not a requirement.
