Job description:
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. Our practice is growing rapidly, as we seek to meet the mental health needs of an underserved community. The current position will start as part-time with the opportunity to increase to full time over three to six months. We value work-life balance. The provider will have flexibility in building their ideal schedule that can eventually include some remote work. The ideal candidate will be comfortable seeing both children and adults (as about 50% of the current practice is children and adolescents).
Duties
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients, focusing on their mental health needs.
Manage acute and chronic health problems across the lifespan.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based practices.
Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring appropriate dosing and monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care, including coordination with other advanced practice clinicians and therapists.
Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for insurance purposes using ICD-10 standards.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Nursing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Current PMHNP certification and state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Priority given to candidates with a full practice authority license in West Virginia as well as licensure in Maryland.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
