    Position Overview

    CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide mental health services at a federal correctional institution in Cumberland, Maryland. FCI Cumberland is a medium-security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp, located approximately 2.5 hours west of Baltimore in western Maryland. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders, manage psychotropic medications, and lead the behavioral health team under BOP mental health standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management
    • Manage psychotropic medication regimens per BOP formulary
    • Perform suicide risk evaluations and crisis intervention
    • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
    • Conduct competency evaluations and forensic consultation as needed
    • Manage dual-diagnosis patients
    • Supervise mid-level providers prescribing psychotropic medications
    • Maintain documentation per BOP standards

    Required Qualifications

    • MD or DO
    • Board certified in Psychiatry (ABPN)
    • Active, unrestricted Maryland medical license (or ability to obtain)
    • Active DEA registration
    • Current BLS certification
    • U.S. citizenship required
    • Ability to pass federal background investigation

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Forensic psychiatry or correctional experience
    • Medication-assisted treatment experience

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary: $260,000 - $335,000 annually
