    Position Overview

    CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide mental health services at a federal prison camp in Alderson, West Virginia. FPC Alderson is a minimum-security federal prison camp for female inmates in rural southeastern West Virginia, requiring healthcare providers with experience in women's health. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders in a female inmate population, with particular expertise in trauma-informed care, gender-responsive treatment, and co-occurring substance use disorders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management
    • Manage psychotropic medication regimens per BOP formulary guidelines
    • Perform psychiatric emergency assessments and suicide risk evaluations
    • Provide trauma-informed care with sensitivity to gender-specific mental health needs
    • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
    • Manage dual-diagnosis patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
    • Supervise mid-level providers prescribing psychotropic medications
    • Maintain clinical documentation per BOP standards

    Required Qualifications

    • MD or DO
    • Board certified in Psychiatry (ABPN)
    • Active, unrestricted West Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain)
    • Active DEA registration
    • Current BLS certification
    • U.S. citizenship required
    • Ability to pass federal background investigation

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Women's mental health or trauma-informed care experience
    • Forensic psychiatry or correctional mental health experience
    • Experience with medication-assisted treatment

    Compensation and Benefits
