    Job Description

    This position is contingent on contract award.

    This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below:

    International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Psychiatrist to diagnose, treat, and prevent mental health disorders through a combination of therapy, medication management, and comprehensive patient care. This role involves collaborating with patients to develop tailored treatment plans that address their psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • All psychiatrists will be required to work in collaboration with Mental Health staff who are part-time or full time salaried by the VA for inpatient care duties including but not limited to:
      • Operating and collaborating with physician’s patients.
      • Treating 1C/1D Psychiatry Service - Ward Patients
      • Admitting
      • Diagnosis of patients
      • Developing Treatment Plans
      • Managing, including the performance of timely treatment
      • Discharge/Transfer
      • Perform all needed medical record documentation
      • Outpatient Care
      • Evaluating all new patient referrals with accompanying medical records
      • Treating severely mental ill patients
      • Evaluation disposition E-consult
      • Post-discharged follow up
      • Patients must be seen by provider in 30 days
    • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patients' mental health conditions and history.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
    • Provide ongoing therapy, support, and monitoring to help patients achieve their mental health goals and improve overall well-being.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to ensure holistic patient care.
    • Stay informed about advancements in psychiatric treatments and mental health research to provide the best possible care.
    • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
    • Participate in crisis intervention and management for patients in acute mental health distress, including those at risk of self-harm or harm to others.
    • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements/Certifications:

    • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    Education Required:

    • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
    • Must possess be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Psychiatry.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
    • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
    • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs.

    Other Special Qualifications:

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
    • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

    Additional Information

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

    Salary Min 180,000 Max 250,000
