Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Psychometrist to join our neurology team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering, scoring, and recording standardized neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a licensed neuropsychologist. This position plays a vital role in supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with neurological conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Administer standardized neuropsychological and cognitive assessment batteries to patients under the direction of a supervising neuropsychologist
Score and record test results accurately and in a timely manner
Prepare and organize patient testing materials prior to appointments
Maintain detailed and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Provide clear instructions to patients and ensure their comfort throughout the testing process
Assist in the preparation of written reports and summaries of test results for review by the supervising provider
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff regarding testing procedures
Manage scheduling and coordination of neuropsychological testing appointments
Perform general medical assistant duties such as rooming patients and documenting in the electronic health record (EHR)
Maintain inventory of testing materials and supplies
Adhere to all office policies, procedures, and compliance standards
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field preferred
Prior experience as a psychometrist or neurology setting strongly preferred
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential a plus
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including those with cognitive impairments
