CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate Construction Accountant who will be responsible for handling all aspects of construction accounting for residential and commercial projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for assisting in the accounting operations of the company

• Work with project management staff ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures.

• Deal with subcontractors on all payments and other financial dealings.

• Provide reporting and budgeting as required by Senior Project Managers

• Manage company and project cash flow

• Understand and maintain standard cost codes in accounting system

• Work closely with Project Managers from beginning to end of project to ensure receivables and payables are handled properly and timely accounted for

• Process contractors payment applications for monthly billings

REQUIREMENTS

• 3 to 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting

• 2 to 4 years on Construction Management or General Contracting or Subcontractor industry experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and/or finance is a plus

• Knowledge of and ability to use various computer programs, including spreadsheet and word processing (MS Office)

• Self-directed individual with initiative and flexibility

• Strong work ethic and time commitment to organizational success

• Excellent attention to details, organization and time management skills

• Understanding of commercial insurance policies required
