Job Summary
The Public Area / Lobby Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of all public spaces throughout the hotel. This position helps create a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests by ensuring the lobby, restrooms, hallways, elevators, meeting space, and other public areas are clean, organized, and well maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the hotel lobby, public restrooms, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and other assigned public areas
- Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors, furniture, fixtures, and glass surfaces
- Monitor and replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissue
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners in all assigned public areas
- Clean entrance doors, windows, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces regularly
- Maintain cleanliness of meeting rooms, pre-function areas, fitness center, and other guest-facing spaces as assigned
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to the appropriate department promptly
- Respond quickly to spills, guest requests, and special cleaning needs
- Ensure cleaning carts, storage areas, and supplies are organized and properly stocked
- Follow hotel brand standards, safety procedures, and proper use of cleaning chemicals
- Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with guests and team members
- Support housekeeping and other departments as needed
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with attention to detail
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 25–40 pounds as needed
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Basic understanding of cleanliness and guest service standards
