The Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel is seeking a Public Area Attendant to join our housekeeping team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all public spaces throughout the hotel, including lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, restaurants, and fitness areas. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing surfaces, emptying trash, and restocking supplies. The Public Area Attendant also responds to guest requests, reports maintenance concerns, and helps ensure the hotel remains clean, welcoming, and well-maintained for all guests. Responsibilities: • Cleaning & Maintenance: Vacuum carpets, mop/scrub floors, dust surfaces, polish furniture/fixtures, clean restrooms (sinks, toilets, floors), empty trash/ashtrays, clean elevators, and sanitize high-touch areas. • Guest Service: Greet guests, assist with needs, provide information (facilities, hours), post caution signs as needed, and ensure a pleasant, safe environment. • Area Upkeep: Maintain the appearance of front desk, pool areas, exercise rooms, and event spaces, including restocking linens and supplies. • Reporting: Immediately report any maintenance, repair, or safety issues to management. • Equipment Care: Clean and maintain all cleaning equipment daily. • Adherence: Follow all hotel policies, procedures, safety standards, and Lost & Found protocols. Qualifications: • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 30-50 lbs), and maneuver equipment. • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, service-oriented attitude. • Good communication skills for guest/team interaction. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Positive, pleasant, and professional demeanor. Work Environment: • Fast-paced, involving frequent movement in various hotel locations. • Requires working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Compensation: $16.22 per hour
