Public Housing Assistant
Part time: 24hours
Hourly Payrate :$20/hr
Contract to Hire Opportunity
The Public Housing Assistant functions under the Executive Director and is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the front office and supporting the Public Housing Program.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with residents, provide guidance on leases and the housing program, and resolve resident concerns and issues.
- Communicate with applicants to answer questions regarding the waiting list. Maintain and organize waiting list applicant documents.
- Provide referrals to the public on alternative housing solutions.
- Utilize property management software to maintain accurate records of tenant information, rent payments, and maintenance projects.
- Perform housekeeping inspections and understand and implement HUD INSPIRE inspection standards.
- Schedule vendors and maintain good working relationships with service providers.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Some knowledge of housing and community development is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn and interpret regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to initiate work projects, work independently, and multitask effectively.
- Ability to work in a team environment, contribute as a team member, and treat coworkers and customers with respect.
