Backbone Underground Inc is seeking a dependable and hardworking Underground Utilities Construction Laborer to join our team. We specialize in public utility construction, including water, sewer, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD).
Job Responsibilities
Assist crews with installation of underground water and sewer mains and services
Assist with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations
Install and handle pipe, fittings, valves, hydrants, manholes, and other utility components
Perform digging, trenching, backfilling, and general site work
Hand dig around existing utilities as needed
Assist with jobsite setup and cleanup
Load, unload, and move pipe, tools, equipment, and materials
Safely use hand and power tools
Work around excavators, loaders, directional drills, vacuum equipment, and other heavy equipment
Assist equipment operators and other crew members as needed
Follow company and jobsite safety procedures
Perform other construction duties as assigned
Qualifications
Previous underground utility or construction experience preferred, but not required
Experience with water, sewer, or HDD is a plus
Willing to train the right candidate
Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic
Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a crew
Must be able to perform physical labor including digging, lifting, carrying, bending, and working on your feet throughout the day
Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions
Valid driver's license preferred
Must be safety-conscious and willing to learn
