    About the Role:

    The Account Director, Public & Media Relations is a full-time hybrid role located in Boston, MA, with flexibility for some remote work. The Account Director will help to lead media relations initiatives on several key accounts in the agency’s growing client roster of government and private as well as public company clients across a range of health intiatives The successful candidate will have proven national and international as well as trade/local media expertise in strategy development, execution as well as crisis management, representing new business development on public/media relations pitches, providing leadership in earned media across the agency.

    Responsibilities:

    Develop and execute public relations and media strategies as well as campaigns

    Create and maintain relationships with key media outlets - print, online and broadcast

    Ability to provide media training to executives, prepping clients and providing framework for media training across best practices across critical health areas.

    Provide input into key press releases, media advisories, and other materials, framing timing of news according to various inputs from clients.

    Develop and create strategies to increase brand awareness for LHS clients.

    Manage crisis communications.

    Create media content including media advisories and media backgrounders.

    Create compelling story angles for LHS health clients, including pop up media events.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.

    5-10 years related experience with supervisory skills.

    Knowledge of and experience in the healthcare, life science and medical technology industry required.

    Strong knowledge of media trends and digital media.

    Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

    Must be able to work with junior staff to assist in client implementation.

    Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

    Must be located within commuting distance of Boston, willing to work 3 days a week in the office and 2 days remote.
