Job Description

The North America Data Engineering Leader is one of the more senior Engineering roles within Publicis Sapient blending Data/AI/ML, delivery, operations, and business development. This person will demonstrate a broad technical knowledge and will still be passionate about technology.

The North America Data Engineering Leader will establish goals, priorities and expand the portfolio of our industry leaders. S/he will visibly participate in the growth of the organization as a critical part of the Publicis Sapient organization.

• Build relationships with key decision makers and influencers within current clients as well as new clients in partnership with our industry vertical and marketing teams
• Drive growth for the Data Engineering capability through thought-leadership and client advisory
• Build and grow the Data Engineering team to develop top talent, ensure delivery success, and help strengthen branding for both hiring and selling.
• Embody data-driven decision-making, looking for ways to analyze everything with data to improve it
• Understand how the other capability and practice teams at Publicis Sapient interact and how to best work together to expand business and technology partnerships.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

• Extensive software engineering background and mindset
• Able to understand a given problem and then create innovative and practical solutions, and apply technologies that best fit the business needs of clients
• Manage the details of end-to-end implementation, keeping track of dependencies within a large design, and communicating the vision and ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Deep understanding of and experience with data architectures, information systems, deployment and storage techniques, and information management and analysis tools
• Understands machine learning concepts, related data needs and typical usage scenarios
• Designed and built production ETL, data pipelines, and entity resolution systems and taken them to full production, preferably in the cloud
• Basic familiarity with common ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Mxnet
• Worked with data warehousing tools such as Hive, Spark, Amazon Redshift, Azure Datalake, Azure Databricks, Google BigQuery, and used queuing technologies such as Kafka, Rabbit MQ, or Amazon SQS
• Deployed both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, such as PostgresSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, CouchDB, or MongoDB
• Worked with, and understood, the operational aspects of a distributed compute / cloud environment
• Knows how to ship iterative features to production with DevOps practices (CI/CD etc.)
• Significant presentation or public speaking experience to both technical and non-technical audiences
