    POSITION OVERVIEW (1-2 DAYS IN OFFICE IN IRVINGTON, NY)

    The Sr. Accountant will perform general accounting functions, including balance sheet analysis, P&L analysis, budget planning and report-writing.  The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 6-8 years of experience as an Accountant or have a comparable level of expertise. Strong communication skills, as well as technical, problem solving and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for specific departmental operating account and budgets. Conduct monthly analyses of actual vs budget and research expenses as necessary
    • Monitor and reconcile specific Balance Sheets accounts monthly
    • Prepare and analyze gross margin reconciliation schedules
    • Record monthly inventory for US and Canada Retail Stores
    • Identify and research inventory variances between financial record and system records
    • Provide specific reports to department leaders upon request
    • Prepare rent schedules and vouchers for monthly payment
    • Prepare annual rent budget for all direct-to-consumer channel and corporate locations
    • Responsible for rent forecast updates as needed when new leases are signed, amended, or renewed
    • Keep abreast of all rent inquiries from landlord and respond in a timely manner
    • Some knowledge about lease accounting 842 in preparation and calculation of lease amortization is a plus
    • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate work relationships amongst teams and outside partners
    • Assist with audit requests by gathering and providing documenting support
    • Write financial reports as needed.
    • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

     

    • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, or a related field, or equivalent amount of relevant experience and education. Food industry experience strongly preferred.
    •  0-2 years of related experience is preferred.
    • Planning, organizing, coordinating and leadership skills.
    • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
    • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong problem solving, and decision making skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
    • Ability to work in conditions, which include multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules, and specific time constraints.
    • Additionally, candidate must interact well with other employees, work overtime as needed, be able to work in food manufacturing facility and adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices.
