    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Journeyman Wireman – Minimum 5 years’ experience – Successfully completed Union Apprenticeship Program

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

    • Teach courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures, as well as Basic Course Information sheets.
    • Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance as may be scheduled or required.
    • Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course.
    • Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Extensive electrical knowledge of the subject areas for commercial, residential, and industrial construction, in which the individual is responsible for instruction. Must have knowledge of areas of discipline to be taught; Electrical Code and Practices- Level I, Rigging-Level I, Torque-Level I, Instrumentation-Level I, Electrical Code Calculations-Level II, Motor Controls-Level II, Building Automation-Level II, Health Care System- Level II, Electrical Code Calculations-Level III, Motor Controls-Level III, 2014 National Electrical Code, and Fire Alarm Code, NFPA 72
    • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of community college students.
    • Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development.
    • Computer literate and able to navigate in a Windows environment.

    • Actively participate in professional social media outlets to promote Traylor Brothers and establish industry connections through participating in professional, industry-related discussions and sharing appropriate content to include industry articles, blogs etc.
    • Attend industry-related networking events to build long-lasting relationships in various regional sectors.
    • Travel to various projects and regional offices to meet with hiring managers to understand the project and region's culture to best match talent preferences/needs and help position candidates accordingly.
    • Develop innovative concepts to attract candidates to project locations with a limited local talent pool.
    • Be able to create and post open positions with multiple online platforms where appropriate, such as LinkedIn, Glassdoor etc. and internal ATS platforms
    • Proactively search for passive candidates to fill current open positions.
    • Pre-screen candidates based upon specific abilities and cultural fit.
    • Conduct phone interviews as the initial screening for qualified candidates.
    • Coordinate in-person interviews where appropriate.
    • Advise Management on appropriate offers and compensation packages relative to market conditions.
    • Assists in branding and establishing a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation for both internal and external candidates.
    • Up 20% overnight travel may be required. Travel needs will vary depending on demand.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
