Software Development Manager

We are looking to add a manager for our Software Development team at Pura. The right candidate would describe themselves as someone who is continuously improving software programs and instills this drive in others. This person will be the “go to” person for software development as they build a team of developers and continue creating new software that makes perfect scents.

This position is full time and is compensated depending on experience.  We want to pay you what you are worth.

A Day in the Life of a Software Development Manager

The Software Development Manager will work closely with our Director of Technology, Austin. He’s pretty cool and we promise we aren't biased! The dev manager would be the liaison between a team of talented software developers and upper management. They will oversee each aspect of the development process by managing, evaluating, and ensuring on time completion of development projects. They will hire and train new developers, establish development standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. They will help architect our IoT infrastructure and data driven solutions by studying existing technology architecture, evaluating solution alternatives, develop prototypes and write detailed technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Management experience is a plus, but your management style is crucial
• Drive to improve others especially our developers 
• Strong communication and leadership skills 
• Ridiculous commitment to an Agile mindset 
• Proficient in AWS Architecture, Node JS, React 
• Experience with Shopify/Liquid is a plus
• Experience with the AWS IoT is a big plus
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills even under pressure
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience
• Professional software development experience (brownie points for 5+ years)
