    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our team in the underground utility construction industry. The Purchaser will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services needed for construction projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness and approve received invoices. This role requires a strong understanding of utility construction needs, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Source and purchase materials, tools, and equipment required for underground utility projects (e.g., water, sewer, storm, and electrical utilities).

    Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.

    Review project specifications and collaborate with project managers to identify procurement needs.

    Create and manage purchase orders and maintain accurate records in the procurement system.

    Track deliveries and resolve delivery or quality issues with vendors promptly.

    Ensure materials meet company and project quality standards and specifications.

    Assist in managing inventory levels and coordinating with the warehouse or yard teams.

    Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements or alternative vendors when necessary.

    Support budgeting and cost control by obtaining competitive quotes and tracking expenditures.

    Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations in all purchasing activities.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, construction management, or related field preferred.

    2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in underground utility or construction industry.

    Familiarity with utility construction materials and equipment is strongly preferred.

    Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Ability to speak English is required. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.

    Valid driver’s license
