A growing global distribution and product development company is seeking an Import Purchasing Specialist to join its supply chain team. This role is responsible for managing overseas suppliers, monitoring market conditions, and ensuring critical components are sourced efficiently to support customer demand.
This organization designs and engineers many of its own products while partnering with international manufacturers to produce them. The purchasing team plays a key role in maintaining strong supplier relationships and managing the complexities of global sourcing.
Responsibilities
Manage relationships with international suppliers
Oversee purchasing of imported components and materials
Monitor commodity trends, currency fluctuations, and global supply conditions
Support supplier sourcing and evaluation initiatives
Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure product availability and inventory alignment
Maintain compliance with import regulations and tariff classifications
Qualifications
Experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management
Knowledge of import processes and HTS tariff codes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working with ERP systems and data tools
Ability to manage supplier relationships and evaluate market conditions
Preferred Experience
Hardware or fastener industry experience
Exposure to commodities such as steel, aluminum, or other metals
Experience working with international suppliers
