    We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Plastics Film Buyer and Seller to join our team. The Purchasing Agent – Recycling Services will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and selling stretch film, Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) post-industrial scrap films, and post-consumer reprocessed (repro) pellets. This role requires strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers in the plastics industry. This position is based at our manufacturing facility in Hartford City, Indiana, and requires approximately 50% travel.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Sourcing and Procurement: - Identify and evaluate suppliers of stretch film, LLDPE post-industrial scrap films, and post-consumer repro materials.
    * Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure high-quality materials at competitive rates.
    * Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
    * Maintain a reliable network of suppliers to ensure consistent material availability.
    
    • Sales and Business Development: - Develop and maintain relationships with customers seeking stretch film, LLDPE scrap, HDPE scrap, and repro products.
    * Identify new sales opportunities and expand the customer base.
    * Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
    
    • Inventory and Logistics Management: - Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of purchased and sold materials.
    * Monitor inventory levels to balance supply and demand, minimizing excess stock or shortages.
    
    • Market Analysis and Reporting: - Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, pricing, and competitor activities.
    * Provide regular reports on purchasing and sales performance, including market insights and forecasts.
    * Provide quarterly Quality reports and Supplier Scorecards to suppliers.
    

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred)

    Experience

    • 2+ years of experience in buying, selling, or trading plastics, particularly stretch film, LLDPE, or recycled materials.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    • Strong understanding of the plastics industry, including post-industrial scrap and post-consumer repro markets.
    • Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills with suppliers and customers.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze market data and make data-driven decisions.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP/CRM systems.
    • Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed for supplier visits, trade shows, or client meetings.
