We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join a manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for sourcing materials and equipment, managing supplier relationships, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting production requirements.

The ideal candidate has a manufacturing or mechanical background, warehouse experience, strong negotiation skills, and experience working with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

Source and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery

Negotiate pricing, contracts, and purchasing agreements

Purchase materials, equipment, and supplies according to production requirements

Prepare and issue purchase orders

Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships

Monitor supplier performance and delivery deadlines

Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records

Utilize MRP to support material planning and procurement

Maintain ERP information, including EBQ, safety stock, and vendor selection

Ensure inventory and materials are available to support production schedules

Research new suppliers and opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency

Requirements

3+ years of manufacturing/mechanical industry experience required

Warehouse experience required

Experience with purchasing, sourcing, inventory control, and vendor management

Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.

Strong negotiation and communication skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Associate degree preferred

Spanish fluency preferred
