Your tasks & responsibilities:
Establishing and shaping the purchasing department of the first manufacturing plant of the Papier-Mettler Group in the United States
Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective, availability and high-quality raw materials, equipment, and services
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supporting departments on corporate level to ensure seamless supply chain operations
Analyze and manage inventory levels to optimize working capital and production efficiency
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, fostering partnerships that align with the company’s values and quality standards
Process entire purchase orders efficiently and accurately through the company’s ERP system and perform other clerical duties
Monitor market trends, assess supplier performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Your profile:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Proven experience (2+ years) of purchasing in a manufacturing environment desired
Absolute reliability and exemplary time management
Savvy and determined negotiator with experience in contract law
Self-managed and strong problem-solving skills
Impeccable attention to detail and outstanding organization skills
Positive working attitude, hand’s-on mentality and strong communication skills
Familiarity with ERP systems and M/S office
