Identify and eliminate duplicates, clarify vague or incomplete requests, and ensure all orders follow internal procedures
Maintain accurate and current delivery, staging, and Will Call reports
Monitor stock levels and escalate discrepancies, support Controller in inventory issue investigations
Track and share material availability and delivery timelines with field staff and customers
Work with Accounts Payable to resolve vendor discrepancies and ensure accurate documentation
Keep the purchasing inbox organized and flag anything unusual for review
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse space
Occasionally assist with hands-on tasks (e.g., hanging signage, general cleaning, etc.)
Who You Are
A clear communicator who’s confident talking to customers, vendors, and internal teams
Detail-driven and process-oriented—you don’t cut corners
Curious, proactive, and always asking the right questions
Comfortable balancing office work with physical warehouse tasks
Able to manage your time independently and follow up without being asked
Open to improving workflows and suggesting better ways to handle repeat problems
Qualifications
5+ years of purchasing/material coordination experience, including 2+ years in construction or low voltage
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Computer Ease, Viewpoint, or similar)
Confident with Microsoft Excel (lookups, filters, basic reporting), Outlook, and iPhone apps/tools
Strong working knowledge of construction-related materials and components
Experience collaborating across accounting, operations, and field departments
Valid Class C California Driver’s License; must pass internal driver compliance
OSHA 10 certification required (or willing to obtain); forklift certification preferred (BEC can assist)
Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and operating pallet jacks, ladders, and forklifts
Able to train others and improve systems as you grow in the role
Why This Role Matters
Purchasing at BEC is not just about placing orders—it's about making sure jobs run smoothly, customers are taken care of, and internal teams have what they need to deliver. You’ll get a broad view of how the company works and have the opportunity to build strong relationships across departments. As you grow in this role, there are paths to explore in accounting, operations, service, and more.
