We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Purchasing Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for procuring both regular stock items and special-order products for our wholesale kitchen supply store. This role involves daily collaboration with our internal team and trusted vendors, ensuring the best sourcing decisions are made to maximize profits and keep our operations running smoothly. Responsibilities: • Ability to accurately order and receive products at a cost below the value we sell to our customers. • Ability to manage, cycle count, and improve our in-stock inventory levels for maximum ROI. • Ability to understand, improve, and be accountable for our ordering systems, such as minimum and maximum on-hand inventory levels and setup or confirm re-ordering points. • Produce weekly reports to show healthy levels of inventory and flow of goods for our business needs and requirements. • Focus and help enforce the sales/purchasing of products from our preferred suppliers/vendors. Qualifications: • Strong analytical skills and logical thinking are essential. Must be able to make logical decisions or recommendations based on available information.Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with coworkers, logistics partners, and vendors concerning procurement matters. • Experience and ability to understand computer systems, including Microsoft Office, learn and understand our ERP operating system, along with email and quoting systems. • Organization and ability to break down large tasks into multiple steps that can be measured and reported daily/weekly. • Requires a minimum education of an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Business Management. • Experience in corporate purchasing or inventory management of 2+ years, but able to adapt and help create new, improved systems as we adapt. Must be eager to learn and retain information to improve and grow in the position. Compensation: $52,000 yearly including bonus
