    Position Overview

    The Head of Procurement leads all procurement and sourcing activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of materials and components for manufacturing and distribution. This leadership role is responsible for managing supplier relationships (domestic and global), directing procurement operations, ensuring ERP accuracy, and collaborating across departments to align procurement with organizational goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    Procurement Strategy & Process Management

    Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.

    Oversee the full procurement lifecycle from requisition to delivery of goods.

    Manage purchasing activities and forecasts; reduce purchase variances, meet cost targets.

    Maintain all purchasing-related data and workflows within the ERP system.

    Domestic & Global Sourcing

    Identify, qualify, and develop relationships with key domestic and international suppliers.

    Direct and coordinate overseas shipments in partnership with freight forwarders.

    Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules for all procured products.

    Material Planning & Order Management

    Enter purchase orders, and confirm delivery/tracking.

    Manage inventory levels in collaboration with Sales and Production teams.

    Monitor and improve on-time delivery metrics and inventory efficiency.

    Supplier & Vendor Relationship Management

    Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, capacity, and reliability.

    Resolve supplier issues related to fulfillment, scheduling, delivery, and quality.

    Maintain up-to-date supplier price lists, reports, and performance metrics.

    Administer supplier debits, product return authorizations, and logistics in coordination with ACW Accounts Payable and Logistics/Shipping.

    Cost Management & Risk Mitigation

    Identify and implement cost saving initiatives through strategic sourcing.

    Develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.

    Evaluate contracts for compliance and alignment with ACW policies.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    Work with Sales to analyze sales data to support material forecasting and procurement decisions.

    Provide accurate cost and lead time data to Sales for customer quotations and proposals.

    Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to maintain supplier compliance and resolve quality issues.

    Leadership & Continuous Improvement

    Lead and manage the procurement team, including hiring, training, and performance development.

    Drive process improvements and system enhancements in response to changing market or business needs.

    Ensure purchasing operations align with lean principles and continuous improvement goals.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.

    10+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment; supervisory experience required.

    Deep understanding of global sourcing, logistics coordination, and ERP/MRP systems.

    Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel and data analysis skills preferred.

    Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

    Results-oriented with a high sense of ownership and urgency.
