KPS Global is looking for a Manager of Purchasing, to join the Supply Chain Group.
This position is responsible for management and coordination of Purchasing activities in support of the department and company's objectives. Manage supplier accounts, negotiate and communicate pricing, quality and service concerns. Improve management and execution of on-hand sourced materials to meet production schedules and customer demand. Build strong supplier relationships between buyer/supplier including relationships within all manufacturing facilities. In addition to the tactical Purchasing side, this role will strategically focus on long-term supplier agreements, supplier quality, supplier accountability performance metrics (on-time delivery, etc.), new supplier development and support R&D.
Required Skills
Manages the tactical purchasing function including directing buyer’s daily responsibilities
Ensures suppliers provide the highest on time delivery rate and responses to KPSG buyer team
Develops, tracks, and presents team KPI’s to management
Acts as the main communication point for the various KPSG teams to the buying team
Works closely with materials management team to regularly update safety stock levels, support aged inventory reduction efforts, and ensure stockrooms are properly supplied
Facilitates proper PO lifecycle management from procurement to payment
Provides relevant, timely product and order information to various functional groups including Sales, Engineering, and Production
Purchase of detail parts, finished goods, expensed items, and services required to support manufacturing, sales, and general business operations.
Manage RFP process to ensure that all material & service quotes are comparable
Stay current with business situations and economic conditions to make informed decisions and adequately address changing material requirements, i.e., price and supply chain management (being paramount).
Organize supplier meetings and visits when necessary, and work closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Production Control, Sales, Customer Service, and Cost Accounting on a daily basis.
Supervise daily operations such as buying, quoting, and planning of materials across the manufacturing facilities.
Manages supplier accounts and communicate price, quality, and service issues
Oversee supply chain project management, and monitor on-time status, accuracy of work, and proper adherence to procedures.
Responsible for the hiring and development of purchasing personnel
Analyzes commodity and service requirements, creates RFPs and reviews and analyze bids.
Negotiates contracts and serves as the principal commercial intermediary between suppliers, KPS Global, procurement, legal and risk management departments.
Analyzes the expenditure base to identify cost reduction opportunities, creates, documents, and continuously updates/maintains market and product knowledge.
Prepares and maintain contracts with national/regional service providers in accordance with company standards.
Identifies, engages and influences internal stakeholders across organizational and geographical boundaries to ensure alignment behind Strategic Sourcing and Procurement strategies.
Develops, manages, coordinates global sourcing processes and practices with internal stakeholders.
Develops and manages relationships with national/regional suppliers and contractors and assist in contract negotiations
Participates on behalf of the company in approved or sponsored Sourcing/Supply Chain organizations or related initiatives.
Operates autonomously with little supervision to achieve strategic objectives assigned
Manage the supplier base. Locate and qualify new suppliers. Consolidate supplier base where needed and drive SKU reduction efforts in concert with Engineering.
Advance and formalize Supplier the scorecard process to drive overall supplier performance, to improve their manufacturing capability and product consistency, resulting in cost reduction or increase avoidance, on-time performance, and product quality.
