    Job Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and services essential to the manufacturing process. The role demands expertise in managing supplier relationships, controlling inventory, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to meet production schedules while maintaining cost efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1.Procurement Strategy & Planning

    Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with manufacturing goals and operational need

    Collaborate with production, engineering, and inventory teams to forecast material needs and plan purchasing activities

    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and new suppliers.

    2.Supplier Management:

    Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability

    Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers

    Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

    1. Negotiation & Contract Management:

    Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure favorable conditions for the company.

    Secure and manage long-term agreements with key suppliers to reduce costs and secure availability of critical materials.

    Ensure contract terms are adhered to and resolve any issues that arise with vendors.

    4.Inventory Control & Management:

    Oversee inventory levels to ensure that materials are ordered in a timely manner without overstocking.

    Monitor usage patterns and adjust purchasing strategies to minimize waste and reduce carrying costs.

    Work closely with the production planning team to avoid production delays due to material shortages.

    5.Cost Control & Budgeting:

    Manage purchasing budgets, tracking costs and ensuring purchases remain within budget.

    Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality and supplier performance.

    Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency

    1. Quality Assurance:

    Ensure all purchased materials meet the required quality standards and specifications for manufacturing.

    Work with quality control and production teams to resolve any issues related to material defects or non-compliance.

    7.Compliance & Risk Management:

    Stay up-to-date with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.

    Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal policies and external legal requirements.

    Develop and implement risk management strategies related to supplier reliability and material sourcing

    8.Reporting & Documentation:

    Maintain accurate records of all purchasing transactions, contracts, and communications.

    Generate regular reports on procurement activities, material costs, and supplier performance for senior management

    Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

    Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment.

    Proven track record of negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and controlling costs.

    Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and procurement software.

    Knowledge of lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) inventory management is a plus.
