Main responsibility is managing purchases and placing purchase orders from two overseas steel mills in Italy and Spain.
Because of this, candidates need heavy experience with importing, customs, dealing with brokers and freight forwarders, and tariff implications. Candidate will not be managing people, but managing the process. Other responsibilities include establishing inventory review periods, inventory control, tracking and expediting mill orders, handle claims with vendors.

-Requirements:
Must be familiar with & have used Resource Planning Software – Demand Forecasting
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Previous experience with custom software programs
Good verbal and written communication skills
Detailed oriented and able to work independently
Quality Management System
Responsibilities and Duties:
Purchasing of inventory for all warehouses
Establish min order quantities for all Line Items Establish Inventory Review Periods
Track Mill Orders & Mill Confirmations
Expedite Mill Orders Back up to Operation for processing incoming container files & MTRs
Create new inventory Item numbers and maintain Steel Plus
Handle Claims with Vendors
Purchase Orders
-Place purchase orders for all warehouse locations
Purchase by product categories
Use Demand Forecasting to review categories
Minimum quantity/ Re-order Point
For each Category & line item – by warehouse location
Review re-order points - monthly
Inventory Review Periods
Maintain monthly schedule of review for all inventory categories.
Based on importance of contribution to Sales Revenue & Gross Margin
Review this importance to contribution semi-annually
-Requirements : familiarity with an ERP software, Excel, Quality Management System, College Degree preferred
