  • Responsibilities

    The Purchasing Agent is responsible for material takeoffs for new plans and options and maintaining takeoffs for existing plans. Will assist in value engineering, plan pricing and review and evaluate cost estimates.

    This role is located at the Carolinas Home Office in Charlotte, NC

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare Project Estimates
    • Responsible for daily reviews of purchase orders
    • Assist in development and updates for detailed scopes of work for trades
    • Create, oversee, and track all vendor price agreements
    • Process award packages, spread subcontractor bids, analysis of pricing and recommend to Purchasing Department head bid awards.
    • Procure and Execute Vendor Trade Partner Rebates, tracking, and follow through
    • Set up new Vendors per polices and procedures
    • Audit data input into accounting and purchasing software to ensure accuracy of data
    • Serve as Liasson between vendors, constriction crews, project managers, and other departments
    • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scope of documents to prepare, analyze and maintain thorough take offs with accurate quantities.
    • Maintain accurate files and organization of contracts


    Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business, Accounting or related field or applicable work experience required
    • 3 years' experience in new home construction industry
    • Someone who will Prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience in homebuilding or multi-location businesses preferred
    • Knowledge and experience in Builder Accounting and Purchasing software systems
    • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, Excel
    • Knowledge of construction trades and building materials, thorough in plans reading, understanding and knowledge of the entire construction process.

      $80,000 per year
