Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor

Location : Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: 8 AM - 4 PM
Pay: $45,000 - $55,000
Duties:
Lead the purchasing and inventory teams, overseeing daily operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, reconcile variances, and develop strategies to minimize waste and control costs.
Oversee procurement of raw materials, packaging, and equipment to support ongoing production and operational needs.
Develop and apply forecasting models to align inventory with production schedules and changing market demands.
Ensure all purchasing and inventory activities comply with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Collaborate with the accounting department to manage bookkeeping tasks such as expense tracking, purchase order management, and account reconciliation.
Generate and present comprehensive inventory and financial reports, including forecasts and key performance metrics, for leadership review.
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and resolving supply chain issues.
Train, coach, and mentor team members to enhance skills, support professional development, and maintain high performance standards.
Identify and implement process improvements to drive operational excellence and streamline workflows.
Requirements:
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to collaborate across departments and effectively manage a team.
3–5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, forecasting, accounting, or bookkeeping—preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency in inventory management systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), with advanced Excel skills.
Familiarity with forecasting tools and techniques used for inventory control and financial planning.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and hands-on experience with bookkeeping.
Working knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP and FSMA, is highly preferred.
Physical ability to work in a production environment and occasionally lift/move inventory items (up to [insert weight] lbs).
Bilingual skills are a plus!
