    Position Summary:

    The QA Technician supports Vireo Resources’ commitment to delivering safe, consistent, and high-quality products by monitoring manufacturing activities and helping ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), internal quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role performs production-floor inspections, in-process quality checks, product and material sampling, environmental monitoring, and documentation reviews. The QA Technician maintains accurate quality records, identifies and communicates potential quality concerns, and assists with investigations, corrective and preventive actions, and third-party laboratory coordination. Working closely with Quality, Production, and Operations teams, this position helps ensure products, processes, equipment, and manufacturing areas consistently meet established quality and compliance expectations.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to and enforce the requirements of the quality management system.

    • Identify problems and initiate corrections/corrective actions.

    • Verify compliance and quality of manufacturing processes by:

    • Initiate investigations and gather initial information to assist with customer complaints, process or product deviations, and equipment issues.

    • Submit samples to third party labs and maintain results in applicable spreadsheets, SharePoint folders, and software systems.

    • Analyze, assess, and report information to provide informed notifications to quality management

    • Other Duties as assigned

    • Performing pre-operational checks including sanitation effectiveness and equipment verifications.

    • Performing in-process quality checks.

    • Performing raw material inspections and collecting samples for verification testing.

    • Performing finished product inspections and collecting samples for verification testing.

    • Maintaining retention and reserve sample inventory and scheduling and arranging for shelf-life verification testing as required by material/product type.

    • Performing any in-house testing as required.

    • Scheduling and performing environmental and drain swabbing.

    • Scheduling equipment service and calibration.

    Requirements:

    • At least one year of experience in quality assurance, quality control, laboratory testing, or manufacturing with a related degree; or at least two years of relevant QA/QC experience without a degree.
    • Experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment such as dietary supplements, food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal care products, or medical devices strongly preferred.
    • Familiarity with investigations, corrective and preventive actions, customer complaints, deviations, and root-cause analysis preferred.
    • Basic understanding of equipment calibration, laboratory practices, and the proper use, cleaning, and care of quality-testing equipment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic quality or document-management systems.
    • Ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and complete time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to work independently while consistently enforcing quality and compliance requirements.
    • Dependable attendance and willingness to work occasional overtime, weekends, or nonstandard hours as operational needs require.
    • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related scientific field preferred.
    • Travel up to 20%

    Physical Demands / Work Environment:

    • Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours.
    • Walking, bending, light lifting up to 50 lbs.
