Ucardia is redefining longevity and vitality. We combine credentialed coaches, connected devices, and AI-powered insights to deliver personalized, scalable programs that help people optimize cardiovascular and metabolic health—extending healthspan and improving quality of life.
Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, we partner with forward-thinking medical practices, concierge providers, and employers who want to differentiate their offerings, improve outcomes, and elevate the care experience through a modern, tech-enabled platform that integrates directly into care delivery.
Reporting to the Director of Product Strategy & Operations, you'll play a foundational role in defining how quality is evaluated, prioritized, and upheld across our mobile apps, backend systems, data pipelines, and dashboards.
We're looking for someone with senior judgment and strong instincts —someone who can spot risk early, bring clarity to ambiguity, and help the team build confidence in what we ship. The contract structure allows both sides to validate fit, with the expectation that this role can evolve into a long-term, full-time position as the company grows.
If you've helped a product mature from “it works” to “we trust this in production,” this role was built for you.
Establish and evolve Ucardia's QA strategy across mobile, backend, and dashboards.
Define clear, pragmatic release-readiness criteria for iOS, Android, and backend services.
Create scalable QA processes that balance speed with rigor in a growing environment.
Perform hands-on testing of Ucardia's iOS (Swift) and Android applications.
Validate core user flows, including onboarding, authentication, device pairing, data syncing, and coaching interactions.
Identify regressions, edge cases, and mobile-specific UX gaps.
Validate backend services built with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and MySQL.
Test APIs for correctness, error handling, performance, and data integrity.
Ensure frontend and backend behavior remains aligned and predictable.
Validate accuracy and consistency of data surfaced to end users.
Partner with product and engineering to flag ambiguous, misleading, or risky data behaviors early.
Test third-party integrations, wearable and device data flows, and external services.
Identify where automation adds the most leverage and recommend priorities.
Collaborate with engineering to integrate QA checks into GitHub workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
Maintain focused, high-value test coverage rather than exhaustive automation.
Test client-facing and internal dashboards built in FlutterFlow.
Validate data accuracy, role-based access, permissions, filtering, and state management.
Identify risks or limitations introduced by low-code tooling and define appropriate QA guardrails.
Support release confidence across mobile and backend systems.
Help establish post-release validation and incident response practices.
Identify recurring quality issues and systemic gaps to drive continuous improvement.
3+ years of QA or test engineering experience across mobile and backend systems.
Hands-on experience testing iOS and Android applications in production.
Experience testing APIs and full-stack systems built with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
Prior experience as an early or first QA hire at a startup or scaling product is strongly preferred.
Experience in healthtech, fintech, or regulated environments is a plus.
Comfortable reading code, API responses, logs, and database queries.
Working knowledge of React, TypeScript, Node.js, and MySQL.
Familiarity with Docker, GitHub, and cloud deployments (GCP preferred).
Experience with test management tools, bug tracking systems, and automation frameworks.
Strong instincts for risk, edge cases, and real-world failure modes.
Confident in providing clear, constructive feedback across disciplines and seniority levels.
Able to balance quality advocacy with pragmatic delivery in a contract environment.
Ownership-driven and outcomes-focused.
Comfortable operating with ambiguity.
Motivated by building durable systems and standards, not just checking boxes.
Releases become calmer and more predictable.
Engineers trust QA feedback and integrate it earlier in development.
Fewer production surprises and faster root-cause resolution.
Quality standards are clear, respected, and consistently applied.
Remote-friendly.
Strong overlap with the U.S. Central and Pacific time zones required.
Flexible scheduling, with coordination around releases.
Competitive hourly contract rate ($65–$85/hour), based on experience.
Initial contract engagement with strong intent to convert to a full-time W2 role.
No agencies, please.
