    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide support to DOE for all DOE technical (classification/export) activities at the Portsmouth Site. These activities include, but are not limited to, gaseous diffusion technology, and gas centrifuge technology.
    • Reviews documents containing scientific, technical, and/or operational information prior to approval for release to the public.
    • Performs inspections of buildings and facilities to assess classification issues and generates appropriate documentation.
    • Identifies classified, UCNI, ECI, and Privacy Act information in response to FOIA requests.
    • Contributes to the overall site Records Management Plan. Manage documents and records including sensitive and classified information received from other site contractors and DOE. Manages USEC/FBP controlled records returned to the Department during the lease turnover process.
    • Demonstrates ability to interact well with co-workers, customers, and visitors.
    • Maintains a safe work environment.
    • Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Work in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed. 

    Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching. 

    Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage. 

    In some cases radiological training may be required.

    Required Skills

    • Training and certified by the Classification Officer.
    • Knowledge of disposition classified equipment and material in accordance with the requirements of 41 CFR 109-45.09-52 and DOE M 470.4-4 Chg 1, Information Security.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software applications.
    • Additional training may be required based upon the work area and specific project requirements.

    Required Experience

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    RMDC DERIVATE CLASSIFIER I

    • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in the uranium enrichment industry, with minimum of four years’ experience in classified and unclassified Gaseous Diffusion Technology projects. Ten years of gaseous diffusion experience may be substituted for the degree.
    • A diverse knowledge of difference enrichment methods is desirable.

     

    RMDC DERIVATE CLASSIFIER II

    • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years’ experience in the uranium enrichment industry, with minimum of four years’ experience in classified and unclassified Gaseous Diffusion Technology projects. Ten years of gaseous diffusion experience may be substituted for the degree.
    • A diverse knowledge of difference enrichment methods is desirable
  • Qualifications
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy “Q” security clearance.
