    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

    Work across all areas of the business to become the functional expert for FSQA to effectively develop processes and implement technology to improve business traceability while reducing costs.  Coordinate the design and implementation of technology systems such as Blockchain, EtQ or similar.  Liaise with key business partners to understand business process and ensure the processes are documented as inputs and/or for adaptation into technology. Analyze and make recommendations on how to leverage new technology to further improve business processes to enhance efficiency or optimize the process allowing for additional mitigate of business risk. Work closely with IT and system service providers to ensure business needs are represented and system development and/or enhancements are completed per defined timelines.  Develop and generate progress reports for leadership and follow up as required, with business partners, IT and service providers. Hold business partners accountable for executing against the designed processes once system has been adopted through the use of performance metrics and reporting. 

    Required Skills

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    • Work closely with all aspects of the business to map/outline business process and understand current systems. Independently assess and report on where gaps exist, coordinating with respective functional teams to create, refine or re-develop procedures needed to support execution of various technologies.
    • Create, where necessary, and refine as needed, documented business processes within the context of technology to ensure common understanding of input requirements for development of new or enhancement of existing technology platforms
    • In conjunction with IT and system service providers, assist in development of innovative technology solutions to drive business performance, reduce costs, and enhance transparency, food safety and quality.
    • Train functional teams on execution of use of intended technology that supports greater accountability, program efficiencies and/or traceability/ transparency of product chain of custody throughout growing, harvesting, receiving, cooling, processing, and distribution.
    • Support the business in implementation of technology once development is completed and ensure consistent and accurate usage through reviewing data and reporting on key process indicators and use metrics for the system.
    • Critique and evaluate large volumes of data or information to identify trends and communicate recommendations for further improvement to business processes, system use and system optimization.
    • Independently develop procedure to report on information gaps or areas of inaccuracy. Present such to business leadership.
    • Effectively communicate technical system information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
    • Independently develop and maintain FSQA business relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external to Dole.
    • Independently create, implement, and support training tools to entities, both external and internal, along the product chain of custody. This includes our source base (growers), condiment suppliers, cooler warehouses, value added facilities and potentially extending into development of customer engagement.
    • In collaboration with internal and external business partners, establish/create newly developed system implementation roadmaps and timelines.
    • Create and maintain reports to monitor program progress and drive accountability.
    • Must be willing to travel to various regions, inclusive of grower regions, process facilities and coolers, as necessary.

    Required Experience

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS)

    • 2 - 4 years in IT project management or related experience. Experience in produce operations is desirable.
    • Possess intimate technical knowledge related to use of handheld technology platforms, compliance management systems & Blockchain or similar traceability systems. Experience in development and rollout of new systems is desirable.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Must be flexible, even-tempered, a good mediator and persuasive. Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required, ability to conduct process reviews, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
    • Competency in computer word processing (MS Word), Spreadsheet (Excel) and Database Software (Access) required.
    • Bi-lingual, bi-literate Spanish/English is desired, not required
    • Must be able to persuasively communicate technical information regarding FSQA requirements and expectations with other FSQA staff (internal and external), Dole departments/divisions, suppliers, vendors, co-packers, customers and government officials.

     EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Agribusiness, or related .

    EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT

    No direct reports but, rather partnering/liaising with numerous functional teams

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Ability to lift up to 10-25 pounds, identify and distinguish colors, work in extreme cold some of the time.

    WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT

    • Travel as needed, domestically and internationally.
    • Flexibility with schedule as needed
    • Flexibility with schedule as needed with the ability to work beyond normal business hours, weekends, rotating shifts preferred/required.
