JOB DESCRIPTION :

The Team

The Project Manager is a manager of managers and leades teams to provide technical solutions and support to our Aerospace customer’s manufacturing processes and supply chain. The team will be comprised of several team leads, each with 6-10 team members.

The Role

The successful candidate will take a leading role in our operations team. In additional to steering the team’s efforts, you will be the face of QuEST to our customer’s senior and executive leadership, so clear and effective communication is a must. The role also plays significant role in developing collateral and working with account management for scalability of their services. Travel to sites will be required.

Job Functions

Effective delegation, team development, workload & project tracking, and identifying new resources to hiring onto the team will be essential for the manager’s success. Additional responsibilities include ensuring that the team develops and executes with a mix of leadership and program responsibilities.

• Process development
  • Document processes, tools and templates
  • Gather and develop training materials
  • Establish reporting rhythm with customer
  • Ensure conformance to process across team
• Employee development and growth
  • Assisting with interviewing, hiring, and on‐boarding of new employees
  • Setting and monitoring Key Result Areas (KRAs) quarterly with Annual performance reviews
• • Mapping career development plans. Review team’s skills and create competency matrix
• • Mentor and facilitate training for team members
    • Manage manufacturing engineers by holding accountable to KPIs, coach areas of improvements, suggest additional skill sets needed, manage manpower to ensure the right employees are in the right positions
    • Hold team meetings to flow out information
    • Develop future leaders
• Project Management
  • Create and implement a project plan, assist in identifying resources, keep project on track
  • Work with Project Lead to communicate status to customer, track deliverables and KPIs
  • Meet with customers regularly to monitor project health
  • Gathering customer feedback and providing corrective actions as needed
  • Seek out new work opportunities for QuEST
• Program Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies to meet the business targets of the program (margin, revenue, HC)
  • Review, create and update standard work instructions
  • Create technical deliverables, collaborate with technical leads, and establish deliverable expectations
  • Report project status during regular meetings with the customer. Typical reports would include updates on total completed work instructions, assumptions made and information needed.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's Degree / Master’s Preferred
    • 8+ years of previous leadership / managerial experience in supply chain, materials management, manufacturing, or related area
    • You can understand a customer’s problems and create new solutions to solve them. This is both a creative and innovative process as well as being able to monetize the solution.
    • Like to work in a fast paced, creative environment without a lot of management oversite. You are independent and forward facing.
    • Experience in the Aerospace industry with a focus on Manufacturing
    • The candidate must have the ability to physically and virtually manage a blended team of professionals and junior engineers. Enjoy people and dynamic teams with diverse experiences. We have fun together!
    • You are a strong communicator who can relate to customers, peers, and employees from different cultures and levels in the organization
    • Profcient with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Additional Qualifications

• • An MBA in a business discipline is a plus.
    • Professional Certification (i.e. Blackbelt certification and /or Lean Expert certification, ASQ-CQE/CQA, CPIM, CSCP, PMP) preferred but not required.
    • Program or project management experience preferred
    • Demonstrated capacity to meet aggressive deadlines while achieving excellent business results
    • Exhibits successful ability with indirect leadership of diverse teams deploying complex processes
    • Shows very strong written and oral communication skills to all stakeholders
    • Established ability to manage multiple complex projects at once
    • Experience working in multicultural environments and with others of diverse backgrounds preferred
