Job Description
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists with new hire onboarding including, data entry, ordering background checks/drugs screenings, and E-Verify.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation with integrity and confidentiality.
• Answers frequently asked questions from clients and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
• Assists with payroll functions, including entering/tracking garnishments and completing payroll audits related to benefit deductions and PTO.
• Assists with offboarding employees including, COBRA enrollment and responding promptly to unemployment claims.
• Seeks news and updates on federal, state, and local labor laws that could impact clients.
• Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
• Ability to adjust speed of task completion while maintaining high level of accuracy, in order to meet the timing-needs of clients.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
