Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional - QIDP
As an QIDP/Administrator you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of our healthcare facilities, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high-quality care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and an in-depth understanding of healthcare regulations. You will collaborate with staff, families, and external agencies to provide a safe and supportive environment for our clients.
Duties
Oversee daily operations of healthcare services and programs
Develop and implement individual service plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Supervise staff and provide training to enhance quality of care
Manage staff, staffing schedules, and resource allocation
Must be flexible to assist with shift coverage as needed to ensure continuity of care
Be a crucial member of the hiring and recruitment team
Advocate for clients’ well-being and coordinate services
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to the specific needs of clients
Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' strengths, needs, and preferences
Monitor client progress and adjust service plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes
Provide training and support to staff on best practices for working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including HIPAA guidelines
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or reactions when needed
Implement behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors effectively
Provide support in daily living activities, including assistance with personal care and mobility (lifting when necessary)
Educate and guide staff on recognizing, preventing, and reporting abuse
Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to coordinate services and resources
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field REQUIRED.
Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of first aid procedures and certification is a plus.
Strong understanding of behavior management techniques.
Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and recognizing changes in health status.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, case managers, and team members.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Regularly required to lift, push, pull and or move up to 50 pounds. And occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Experience: 2 years working with developmentally disabled population in a residential or day program setting including experience supervising as a QIDP or other management or case management position in licensed healthcare settings for individuals with developmental disabilities.
This position requires a flexible schedule. Because of the nature of the role and the needs of the residents, there are no fixed start or end times each day. The schedule can vary depending on staffing needs, appointments, or situations that arise, so the person in this role needs to be comfortable adjusting their hours when needed.
Requirements
Pass a DOJ/FBI background check.
Provide evidence of a negative TB test initially and annually thereafter.
Pass a pre-employment physical initially and annually thereafter.
Obtain and maintain CPR certification.
