    The Director, Corporate Communications and Market Insights will serve in a multifaceted role encompassing external positioning including media relations, regulatory, crisis public relations, investor and programs among others. The leader will also develop and oversee a

    comprehensive market and customer insights approach to understand the markets we are messaging to and the sentiment and understanding of customer audiences.

    The position involves creating powerful messages, storylines, and public relations programs that drive favorable perception of the organization with external audiences, while also monitoring the overall effectiveness and results of these programs. The position will also create a robust metrics and analytics programs to measure the success of communication strategies, informing the evolution of messages over time.

    This role will work closely with company executives, key internal stakeholders across a broad matrixed organization, community partners, and agency consultants to maintain and strengthen the organization’s brand and reputation through increased awareness and visibility, reinforce the company's vision and mission, and foster positive community impact.

     

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Develops a comprehensive, multi-dimensional communications strategy to increase overall awareness, reputation and engagement, with an audience first mindset
    • Develops a comprehensive market and customer insight research strategy to increase overall understanding of key audiences want and needs as well as market context, and drivers and barriers to audience change
    • Identifies opportunities for extending and amplifying current communication programs as aligned with the corporate strategy efforts across the company
    • Increases industry awareness and brand recognition through various PR and media strategies
    • Manages the company’s crisis communications media strategy and response plans with preemptive planning and regular testing; Maintain an awareness of company risks and threats
    • Identifies areas for improvement and develop systems and processes to proactively address issues
    • Develops and manages a diversely skilled communications and research team, including Agency partner relationships, as well as program budgets
    • Contributes to the creation of investor messages, including quarterly earnings call scripts, investor meetings and events, and other key investor communications.
    • Performs all management duties including, budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, discipline, ensure employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, grievance resolution, coaching & counseling, always models the Core Values.

       

      Qualifications:

    • 10 years of related experience that includes marketing, market research, communications or general business operations
    • 6 years progressively more responsible supervisory experience
    • Ability to think strategically, see the big picture and provide useful advice and input across the company
    • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to plan, direct, coordinate, and implement comprehensive communications strategies and plans, including the ability to incorporate key messages into communications for key audiences
    • Demonstrated persuasive writing, editing and verbal communications skills, including presentation skills
    • Technical/Functional skills in a majority of the following: public relations, media relations, regulatory and government affairs, financial communications, strategic planning, issues management, crisis communications, marketing communications, community relations
    • Effective leadership skills with the ability to consider multiple points of view while determining a clear path forward.
    • Financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting
    • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills that are clear and concise
    • Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, digital marketing technologies and other digital tools and services
    • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with experience in stakeholder engagement and management, bringing others along through a process to arrive at the shared destination.
    • Solid research acumen in both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
    • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills with a track record of successfully interfacing with executives and gaining ‘buy-in’ for program proposals
    • Strong organization skills and the ability to deal with many issues at one time and prioritize accordingly, with superior attention to detail
    • Ability to think analytically and make sound conclusion quickly and efficiently. Delivers multiple work streams on time and on budget
    • Process-minded strategist who can determine deadlines, logistics and operational plans for multi-dimensional programs and events
    • Ability to think ahead, problem solve, engage proactively, and take initiative
    • Works in a diverse and inclusive environment

       

      Education:

      Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or marketing required. Master’s degree strongly preferred
