    Job Overview

    The United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base is searching for a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist (Supply) (DO-1910-01).

    Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:

    • Works directly with Wright Research Site (WRS) Accountable Property Officer (APO), Major Commands (MAJCOMS), Centers, Wings and Technology Directorates to develop and shape concepts of operations for implementing equipment management programs within complex research organizations.
    • Administers equipment management databases and analyzes data sets to support WRS APO and QA Superintendent decisions on Logistics matters.
    • Performs research to provide technical insight and influence regarding effectiveness and mission impact of proposed policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    • Conducts in-depth assessments using AFRL and higher headquarters publications and manuals aimed at determining the success of WRS organizations towards effectively implementing equipment management, equipment maintenance and logistics support programs.
    • Provides advice to the site on logistics and materiel management procedures.
    • Performs inspection duties to include establishing tasks, expected timelines and results, developing areas to be inspected listing key personnel and functions for evaluation.
    • Consistently and thoroughly evaluates the accuracy of data within various QA and supply systems.
    • Conducts substantial problem analysis to identify adverse trends and/or ineffective practices/procedures.
    • Establishes, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with customers, to include but not limited to, Headquarters Air Force, MAJCOM, Combatant Commands, Numbered Air Force, Air Force Sustainment Center, Installations, Parallel Total Force Associations/Teams and all subordinate units.
    • Conducts reviews that involve evaluating, advising on, and improving the effectiveness of a broad range of enterprise customer service logistics/supply support programs.

    Required Qualifications

    • Reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements.
    • Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans.
    • Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system.
    • Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.
    • Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action.
    • Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.
    • Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities.
    • Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.
    • Reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.

    • Meets the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule, Administrative and Management Positions, General Supply Series, 2001.
