    Position Summary:

    The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a key role in supporting high-quality patient care through proactive care coordination, patient engagement, and administrative oversight. This role is responsible for ensuring patient referrals, follow-ups, and healthcare services are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. The QA Specialist also provides documentation and operational support across departments to maintain regulatory and internal quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    New Patients:

    • Provide timely and appropriate follow-up on newly referred patients

    • Establish communication and schedule appointments with new patients

    Current Patients:

    • Maintain ongoing engagement with patients and families through proactive outreach

    • Educate and link patients to appropriate healthcare services and resources

    • Monitor and track patient progress, maintain accurate records in electronic systems

    • Follow up on diagnostic tests, referrals, and hospitalizations

    General QA Support:

    • Enter, maintain, and retrieve patient and quality-related data from electronic systems

    • Support internal audits and department quality checks as assigned

    • Assist in cross-departmental QA initiatives under the direction of the QA Director

    • Perform additional administrative and support duties as assigned

    Compliance Statement:

    The QA Specialist must remain fully compliant with the organization’s compliance program, including adherence to all standards of conduct, reporting requirements, and regulatory procedures. Compliance is an integral part of performance evaluation. Noncompliance, including failure to report violations, may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written

    • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving ability

    • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic health records (EHR) systems

    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    Preferred Experience:

    • Prior experience in a healthcare, care coordination, or QA-related role

    • Understanding of HIPAA, patient documentation, and care workflows
