Are you someone who likes working with your hands, noticing small details, and learning something new? We’re looking for a dependable and motivated person to join our team and learn how to grade hardwood lumber. No prior experience is necessary—we’ll teach you everything you need to know.
This is an opportunity to join an established family company in an entrepreneurial stage of its long history, and for a motivated individual to grow both personally and professionally. The new generation of family ownership places no limits on leaders, regardless of last name, and the company’s most successful people aim to spend the rest of their careers here, forming tight personal bonds with their colleagues.
What You’ll Do:
- Learn how to grade hardwood lumber from experienced professionals—training is provided!
- Help inspect lumber to make sure it meets quality standards before it goes to customers.
- Assist in sorting boards based on their grade and appearance.
- Work with other team members to make sure orders are accurate and complete.
- Keep your work area clean and safe.
What We’re Looking For:
- No prior lumber experience required—we’ll train you!
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Reliable and hardworking, with a willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail—you don’t need to know wood, but you should notice when things look different.
- Comfortable working on your feet and in a physical, hands-on environment (outdoors or in a warehouse).
- Able to lift and carry lumber with proper technique and safety equipment.
- Friendly, positive attitude and a team player.
- Interest in building a career in the lumber or manufacturing industry.
