Title: Quality Control Technician, Jr.
Shift: 1st shift, 6am-2:30pm (M-F)
Location: Avon, OH
Salary: $22-$31/hr (+/- depending on experience)
Quality Control Technician Role:
The Quality Control Technician, Jr. is responsible for ensuring that products meet the established quality standards, including reliability, usability, and performance, that adhere to the Quality Management System, and customer specifications. This role includes but is not limited to inspecting and testing products through various stages of production to blueprint specifications and tolerances.
Quality Control Technician Responsibilities:
- Ability to read production instructions, processes, and procedures, including interpreting and translating engineering designs and documentation.
- Be knowledgeable for calibration, measurement device training, non-conformance evaluation, material certificates of conformance, first article, first-piece, and source inspections.
- Ensure all manufactured products conform to specifications, inspections, tolerances, and quality meet or exceed customer requirements.
- All measurement devices are appropriate and readily available, and records are accurate and complete.
- Ensure that all testing equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Accurate document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and imputing data into a quality database.
- Work closely with other departments such as production, engineering, and supply chain to identify root causes, resolve quality issues, and improve processes.
- Aids in new product release activities, including PPAPs, First Article Inspections, work instructions creation and maintenance, and quality production policies.
- Support the QA Manager with internal and supplier audits.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
About You:
- Understanding ISO requirements and audits.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, including GD&T features.
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Satisfactory analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards.
- Proficient in the use of quality inspection equipment and software.
- This position is primarily based in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- This role may require standing for extended periods and the ability to lift and/or carry material up to 50 pounds without help.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in quality assurance or a related field is preferred.
- Three years of experience in quality assurance, including inspection, blueprint reading, measurement devices, and calibration.
- Completing customer and material certifications and quality forms.
