    Summary Statement

    The Quality Control Technician performs a wide variety of inspection and verification tasks in support of the Company's Quality Management goals and standards. This position is responsible for ensuring work conforms to applicable specifications, drawings, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The technician must comply with all Federal and State environmental, safety, and health regulations, as well as all company-issued policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. A strong work ethic is required, including attendance, punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to complete assigned inspections in a timely and professional manner.

    Education/Experience

    • Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

    • Must have a minimum of 3 years of inspection experience.

    • Must have working knowledge of fitting, welding, procedures, and document control.

    • Must have and demonstrate a working knowledge of measuring devices (tape, rule, weld gauge, optical tooling)

    • Must have and demonstrate knowledge in blueprint reading as well as interpreting weld symbols

    • Must be computer literate and possess strong math and reading skills.

    • Must have and demonstrate a general knowledge of NDT theory and practical application (MT, PT, VT).

    • Must possess good communication skills and ability to operate in stressful situations while maintaining a professional attitude.

    • Must possess the ability to make sound inspection-related judgments within assigned authority as well as the ability to explain the decisions in a clear and concise manner to supervisors and subordinates.

    • Must be able to operate and communicate as part of a team to support departmental and company quality objectives.

    • Must be able to identify and report all discrepancies verbally and written.

    • Must be able to receive instructions and have a willingness to learn new techniques for self-improvement and the betterment of the company.

    • Must work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.

    • Must be able to meet the work schedule and maintain a clean work environment.

    • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Senesco job hazard analysis.

    • Must be willing/able to get certified on both electric and gas-powered boom lifts.

    • Must complete any other task or assignment as directed by a manager.

    Physical Demands

    • Must have a correctable vision to 20/40 , however, contact lenses are not permitted in certain production area positions.
    • Must pass the Ishihara test for color blindness and can read and understand safety symbols and colors, (i.e. red, yellow, green, etc.).
    • Must pass a pulmonary function exam for respirator use.
    • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, stoop, or climb stairs or a ladder.
    • Must be able to perform overhead work, as needed, with a full range of motion.
    • Must not be claustrophobic and may be required to work in confined spaces.
    • Must have the capability to maneuver through openings as small as 15 inches by 23 inches and would need to be able to move and crawl into awkward positions.
    • Must be able to work in static positions for extended periods of time.
    • Must have good balance and the capability of standing on each foot for a period of 30 seconds or more.
    • Must not have a fear of heights and may be required to work in an elevated environment (which could include heights of more than 50 feet) on scaffolding, from staging, planking, or a mechanical lift.
    • Must be able to carry tools and equipment weighing up to 75lbs to their designated work area. Including but are not limited to the tools associated with their trade, or others as designated by their responsibilities.

    Work Demands

    • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to respirator, hardhat, face shield, safety goggles, safety shoes (steel toe), safety harness, gloves or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis.
    • Must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
    • Must report to their supervisor all damage to equipment or broken and misused tools.
    • May be working in several different areas and environments; this includes work inside and outside of buildings or structures.
