Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring product and service quality at the North Dakota facility while supporting company-wide quality initiatives. This role enforces compliance with API Q1 (21st Edition), API Q2, API 6A, and ISO 9001:2015 standards to meet customer expectations, improve product reliability, and ensure consistent service execution.
This position also serves as a technical leader and mentor, responsible for developing shop and field service personnel, overseeing training programs, and ensuring all equipment, processes, and deliverables meet company and industry standards before reaching the customer.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance, Inspection & Compliance
Ensure all products and services meet API and ISO standards for performance, reliability, and compliance.
Serve as the final quality checkpoint (“last eyes”) to ensure all products meet company standards prior to leaving the facility.
Inspect, identify, and correct nonconforming or flawed equipment in a timely manner, following established procedures and compliance requirements.
Ensure proper product labeling in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Maintain overall facility quality compliance, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external standards.
Oversee product validation, inspection, and testing to confirm specifications are achieved.
Collaborate with Operations and the Quality Department to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Technical Support & Operations Alignment
Act as a technical resource for customers, addressing product specifications, applications, and service-related inquiries.
Work closely with Operations to ensure field service readiness and product alignment with customer needs.
Provide guidance to customers based on field conditions, helping them understand product applications and operational requirements.
Apply strong equipment and product knowledge to support quality, performance, and operational decisions.
Operate effectively in high-pressure environments, demonstrating problem-solving and decision-making in demanding or international settings when required.
Inventory, Asset & Process Management
Coordinate inventory activities to ensure compliance with quality, performance, and API standards.
Manage asset tracking, including inventory control, maintenance, and accurate logging of all transactions.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all documentation and paperwork within required timelines.
Maintain accountability and transparency in all records, ensuring honesty and compliance with company standards.
Training, Leadership & Workforce Development
Lead, conduct, and supervise training programs for shop and field service technicians.
Administer and direct structured training initiatives, including:
Leading and overseeing employee training programs
Facilitating and managing training sessions
Organizing and supervising instructional workshops
Delivering and coordinating staff development initiatives
Administering ongoing training activities and competency evaluations
Provide hands-on training in product handling, inspection processes, and field service execution.
Mentor and develop personnel to ensure competency in API Q1 (21st Edition), API Q2, API 6A, and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
Conduct regular coaching, evaluations, and performance feedback to strengthen accountability and skill development.
Partner with Operations and Quality teams to align training with customer expectations, compliance requirements, and safety standards.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve customer satisfaction.
Promote a strong quality culture through training, communication, and leadership.
Support supplier quality management to ensure consistent and reliable materials and components.
Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership to identify and implement operational and quality improvements.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in quality assurance, product reliability, or service quality within oil & gas, manufacturing, or field services.
Strong working knowledge of:
API Q1 (21st Edition)
API Q2
API 6A
ISO 9001:2015
Strong equipment and product knowledge relevant to field operations.
Experience with product inspection, validation, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
Proven ability to lead training programs and mentor technical personnel.
Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced, and demanding environments.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and documentation accuracy.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
