POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Documentation Specialist supports the development, revision, and maintenance of regulatory manuals, SOPs, and quality system documents. This role compiles information from subject matter experts, writes and edits documentation, and ensures all materials meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Write, edit, and update repair station manuals, SOPs, forms, and controlled documents.
- Gather and compile regulatory based information from stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure documentation meets internal formatting, style, and quality standards.
- Maintain version control and support document management system workflows.
- Coordinate review and approval processes with subject matter experts (SME) and EAMS leadership.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality requirements (e.g., FAA 14 CFR Part 145, AS9100).
- Support audits by preparing, organizing, and maintaining controlled documents.
- Recommend improvements to documentation processes and templates.
- Organizes material and completes document revisions according to established regulatory standards (i.e. - FAA, ANAC, EASA, UK-CAA, Guernsey, etc.) regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Create diagrams and charts to illustrate process flow or decision trees to illustrate the regulatory documentation.
- Coordinates draft review for relevant EAMS Departments to ensure accurate and effective operational policy and procedures.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education:
- High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
Experience:
- Experience with FAA repair station documentation.
- Knowledge of QMS standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Audit experience or quality-related training.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and repair station manuals.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in technical writing, document control, or quality documentation.
- Strong writing, editing, and organization skills.
- Ability to interpret SME input and produce clear, accurate documentation.
- Familiarity with regulated environments (aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, etc.).
- Proficiency with document management systems and MS Office.
- Strong research, investigative, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Paint Shop Pro, and Adobe Illustrator.
- A strong multi-tasker with the ability to manage and prioritize numerous ongoing projects.
- Internal customer focused with good relationship building skills.
Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements:
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
- Availability for domestic travel, as required.
- This is a non-safety sensitive position.
