_ _ About the Role:_ Dayton-Granger, Inc. (DG) has been designing and manufacturing critical aerospace systems for over 82 years, supporting major commercial and military aviation programs worldwide. From our fully integrated facility in Fort Lauderdale, FL, we deliver high-precision antennas, lightning protection, and electrostatic components with speed, quality, and reliability.

We are seeking a Quality Engineer with a blended focus on supplier quality, internal supply chain, and manufacturing quality processes. In this role, you'll ensure that materials—from incoming components through work-in-progress (WIP)—meet quality standards and do not impact production flow. You'll work closely with Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing to proactively identify and resolve issues, drive root cause investigations, and support continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain.

This position is primarily on-site with limited supplier travel and a strong emphasis on internal quality controls, supplier collaboration, and production support.

    What You'll Do

    **Responsibilities:
    **

    • Support incoming material quality: review supplier documentation, verify incoming parts, and escalate nonconformances.
    • Coordinate with Procurement and suppliers to resolve quality issues, follow up on corrective actions, and ensure timely response and resolution.
    • Monitor WIP and internal material flow to prevent and contain supplier- or process-related quality issues before they impact downstream operations.
    • Work hands-on within production areas to identify quality concerns in WIP, assist with real-time troubleshooting, and ensure that quality controls are implemented and maintained.
    • Assist with First Article Inspections (FAIRs) per AS9102 and customer requirements.
    • Support MRB activities by providing supplier and process-related data and ensuring timely follow-up on dispositions.
    • Apply structured root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) to resolve both supplier and internal quality issues.
    • Track and report supplier and internal quality metrics, escalate risks, and provide regular visibility to cross-functional teams and leadership.
    • Participate in internal audits and maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
    • Support and lead quality-related continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process reliability, reduce defects and rework, and strengthen supplier partnerships.
    • Additional tasks assigned by management.

    What You'll Bring

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred).
    • 3+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience working with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams (Procurement, Engineering, Production).
    • Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and quality system requirements.
    • Proficiency with quality inspection tools and root cause/corrective action tools.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
    • CQE, Six Sigma, or other quality-related certifications.
    • Experience reviewing and submitting FAIRs per AS9102.
    • Prior experience with supplier performance monitoring and improvement (PPM, OTD, NCR trends).
