Quality Engineer
Minneapolis, MN | Direct Hire | $95k - 105k
Konik is partnering with a local manufacturer seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to support microelectronics capital projects in a fabrication shop environment. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality products are delivered on time, with minimal rework or delays, by executing quality control activities, collaborating with project teams, and maintaining compliance with specifications and standards.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
- Perform daily quality control inspections and testing of microelectronics products.
- Develop and maintain quality control plans, procedures, and inspection test plans.
- Schedule and manage inspections, issue Non-Conformance Reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and verify build documentation for accuracy before production.
- Ensure final products meet project and client requirements.
- Collaborate proactively with project teams, suppliers, and contractors.
- Travel to supplier sites for QC inspections (approximately 20–25%).
Quality Engineer Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in QC practices for welding and steel products, ideally in oil & gas, aerospace, semiconductor, or high-purity equipment.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) through AWS
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ASME codes (B31.1, B31.3), AWS D1.1, ASTM standards.
- Ability to interpret drawings, review welding documents (WPS, PQR, WQTR), and use inspection tools.
- Strong attention to detail, forward-thinking approach to quality control, and disciplined reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with Bluebeam software.
- Project management experience required, Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
