    AXILLON AEROSPACE is a leading provider of complex, highly engineered composite and polymer solutions for demanding commercial and defense applications. Comprised of six, purpose-built centers of excellence throughout the USA and Mexico, each strategically focused on serving specific markets across aerospace engines and airframes, as well as munitions, radomes, antennas and fuel containment.

    SUMMARY
    Axillon is looking for a Quality Engineer for a project-based assignment supporting MRB and inspection processes for manufacturing operations in a 6-9 month temporary position.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Under the direction of the Director of Quality or delegated program Quality Engineer, utilize judgment in performance of duties in conjunction with company policies, procedures, and processes.
    • Perform review and assist engineer with Non-Conforming Material processing for various manufacturing processes.
    • Collect variable and attribute data as needed and set up or expand method to track/trend and improvements.
    • Work on assigned projects related to inspection improvements (efficiency, non-value-added inspection, equipment calibration.) - Help define/design small upgrades or identify source for improved inspection tools / media.
    • Work with High Performance Teams and various engineers on miscellaneous continuous improvement projects.
    • Assist with various related Quality functions, e.g., defect quantification, costs reduction, inspection program change and optimization and quality control.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology, or current enrollment in such a program with 2-3 years of college engineering courses completed.

    Experience:

    • Hands on ability to build/ assemble and use hand inspection tools
    • Use of collaboration tools for data review / update and project milestone completion
    • Entry level mechanical engineering aptitude preferred

    Skills:

    • MS Office suite
    • Programming experience in Visual Basic, C++, Python, or other languages (preferred)
    • SolidWorks, NX, or other CAD (preferred)
    • Highly organized
    • Strong communication skills
    • Able to work alone or within a team
    • Self-motivated to complete tasks timely and act with sense of urgency as required
    • Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, lifting less than 30lbs throughout the workday

    Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $30.00 to $35.00/hr.

  • Qualifications

    • 1+ year experience in the similar field or position
    • High school education with Bachelor or Associate degree preferred
    • Good communication, organization, and inter-personal skills a must. Ability to work under pressure and react quickly, ability to work with little or no supervision

    during non-traditional office hours
