Quality Engineer

Our defense and aerospace client near Chicago's O'Hare Airport is hiring a Quality Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer

• Conduct internal quality and ITAR compliance audits
• Facilitate the PSW documentation
• Assist with the documentation of the PFMEA's and Quality Plans
• Facilitate AS9100, 8D, 5 Whys, 4M, ISIR, etc. documentation
• Facilitate Material Review Board team audits
• Be instrumental in the use and application of metrology
• Oversee inspection functions and be involved with product launches, changes and corrective actions

Requirements of the Quality Engineer

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is strongly preferred but not required
• Five or more years in quality in a metal forming environment including understanding quality specific to metal, defense and aerospace CNC machined components
• A background with aerospace or defense contracting cold heading, hot heading, roll forming, gear hobbing, gear shaping, gear planing or metal stamping is a plus
• Use MS Office including Excel and Word
• ITAR compliance requires that our client's employees hold a US Green Card or are a US Citizen
• Some limited travel may be required including for supplier audits

Compensation for the Quality Engineer

The annual starting salary for this position ranges from $75,000 per year to $85,000 per year
