Location: Novi, MI
** Shift: 1st : Monday – Thursday 5 AM to 3 PM**
Payrate: $18/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within the quality group at our Novi facility to support the Manufacturing, Production, and Quality initiatives for transmission systems and components.
- Utilize knowledge of inspection and measuring to perform inspections, verifying that the products are meeting design or spec requirements
- Keep records and communicate non-conformances to support quality initiatives and projects according to customer requirements, TS1694 or/and IATF 16949
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Analyzing information, reporting research results, and documentation skills,
- Promoting process improvement,
- Proficiency in CMM programming and operation, dimensional metrology, measurement, inspection methods, and calibration.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work amongst cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- Some college or Associate’s degree preferred
