Position Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process, first article, and final inspections on aerospace components and assemblies to ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, industry standards, and company quality procedures. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction within a precision manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, first article, and final inspections of aerospace parts and assemblies.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, GD&T, and customer requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, optical comparators, and CMM reports.
- Verify material certifications, process certifications, and supporting documentation for compliance.
- Identify, document, and report nonconforming products and assist with corrective action investigations.
- Complete inspection records, quality reports, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
- Conduct visual inspections for workmanship, defects, damage, and foreign object debris (FOD).
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO standards, customer specifications, and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of GD&T principles.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment.
- AS9100 quality system experience.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) experience per AS9102.
- CMM experience and report interpretation.
- Certification as a Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform inspections for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate measuring equipment.
- Visual acuity required for detailed inspection work.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and moderate noise levels.
